EUROCHALLENGE
EuroChallenge is a must when it comes to your racing bucket list! It has been atracting world championship standard paddlers for over a decade. X2 world champion Sean Rice has the record for most wins at this race, having 10 titles to his name, yes! you heard that right, X10 Eurochallenge winner. If you feel confident enough to come for the win or a top podium spot you will be rewarded with cash prizes!
Eurochallenge is not only about who can be the first across the line... It has much more to offer, I have been atending this race for the past years, and you may get a good or a bad race, but what you are going to have for sure is lots of fun. If you travel from far away you can be sure that you will have a blast of a time!
Besides the main race you will also be able to enjoy a lifesaving style elimination race the following day, in which there is money prizes for the top 3 paddlers. I can assure from my personal experience that it is really fun to take part in this event after the race and that you will have a laugh for sure!
But as I said before, Eurochallenge is not all about racing, there is also partying, lots of partying... because if there is something you can´t have enough off, that is partying (and new surfskis and paddles). At Eurochallenge you will be able to enjoy yourself in warm, crystal clear meditarranean waters and sunny skies, but when you are not in the water, you can have a great time sharing your experiences with the surfski comunity that comes together for this event every year no matter your age, from young paddlers to the most veteran in the sport come to enjoy this amazing race!
I said partying... right? Yes! After the main race you will be able to enjoy yourself at a party organized by the race organizaton in which everybody comes together and finish burning off any energy left over from the race.
The race takes place in La Vilajoiosa, a city in the metirranean coast, it is a very touristic locality so if you have been wanting to go with your family to a race for some time, this is the one! Whilst you are in the water preparing for your race the days before, they can be enjoying the exetnsive sandy beach next to the harbour, don´t let the harbour part put you off, becasue I can say myself that the water in that beach is crystal clear!

RACE COURSE
Race day is something we don´t know until we get there, and that is becasue the race course is a Downwind (if conditions allow it) there is a 3 day window, and what ever day suits the downwind the best is chosen as race day.
There are two possible race courses, both starting from the beach next to the harbour, one will head down towards Campello (15km). The other course will take you arround the Benidorm island and up to Altea (22km)
If the wind is pumping, both courses allow for extremely fast times!
